This edition focuses on the latest insights into Australia’s current economic outlook and recovery. Highlights include the continued economic expansion occurring across Australia, the state of household finances, challenges in the labour market and the implications for SME business, with a particular focus on the hospitality, construction and export related sectors.

The Judo Bank quarterly SMEconomics Report provides some of the best economic analysis, specifically tailored for SME businesses.  Warren Hogan, Chief Economic Advisor to Jud Bank along with Michael Borlase, Regional Director at Judo Bank, will discuss the  insights from the latest edition of the SMEconomics report which will be released on 29th June.

Warren Hogan Judo Bank’s Chief Economic Advisor, is the Managing Director and Founder of EQ Economics, a consultancy specialising in economic and industry analysis. Warren is a regular in Australian and international media, and a columnist for The Australian Financial Review. Warren is regarded as one of Australia’s top economic analysts and commentators. His focus is on the Australian economy and supporting business decision making. Warren’s career started in banking and financial markets where he held various roles as an economist and financial market strategist, and has worked for the NSW Treasury Corporation, Westpac Banking Corporation, Credit Suisse and the ANZ bank where he held the position of Chief Economist from 2009-2016.        

Michael Borlase, Regional Director, joined Judo after a successful ten-year banking career with the Bank of New Zealand and ASB Bank where he specialised in cash flow and leverage finance. Michael is passionate about understanding complex transactions and providing tailored solutions for his clients. Michael has banked businesses across numerous industries and understands that every company is unique in its own way and should be treated accordingly. Before his banking career, Michael spent six years as an Officer in the Royal New Zealand Navy where he learned the importance of trust, communication and working together to achieve a common goal – all of which are key to a strong banking relationship.
